First year blogging goals… and how we want to achieve them.

First Year Blogging Goals Image of cup and books

Being part of a twitter blogging group so early has been invaluable and has helped me get my head around the crazy busy life of a blogger, but the one question that I was asked, I just couldn't answer and one that is so personal to me, no one could answer for me... So, after many cups of coffee and pen lid chewing, I am going to try and set my 12-month blogging goals. (Enter scared emoji here!)

  1. I want to get 1000 email subscribers for our first blog year. I know this might sound ambitious considering we have just started but by looking at it in small monthly chunks that works out to be 83 subscribers each month.
  2. I want to try and cement by an understanding of the power of social media - dedicating time to making friends with people who share our passions and experiences. From this, I hope to learn how to maximize Pinterest. I admit my only use of pintrest in the past was to find classroom activities and teaching ideas and have no idea how to use it to promote the blog. In regard to Instagram, I love the power of images. I intend to really push my Instagram and grow my followers from 0 - 2000 by the end of 12 months.
  3. My last blogging goal for the first year is to create video content to accompany our posts. I found while planning some of our future posts and reviews is that words will not be enough to convey our message. So, I need to research how to blog and the equipment needed.

Overall, I just want to grow an engaged audience. I want to go from 0 page views to 1000 per day, and whilst they audience are viewing they are engaged and informed. If I primarily focus on the creation of content and networking I hope my goals will be achieved - I don't know if they are realistic, but I want to believe they are!
